ISLAMABAD – Chairman Senate, Mohammedmian Soomro Saturday underlined that need for construction of cost effective quality houses in the country and observed that focus should be on providing quality units with all the modern civic facilities.

Addressing at the launching ceremony of “World Trade Centre”, a commercial complex bring constructed by Defence Housing Authority (DHA) in collaboration with

Al-Ghurair Giga of UAE.

Mohammedmian Soomro said “he was glad to see that foreign investors are keen to make investments with a new vision and modern concepts which would ultimately bring

new dimensions to the quality of life of our people.

The construction of huge commercial complexes would also help attract and channelise investments from abroad, he added.

The Senate Chairman exhorted the investors, particularly those keen to invest in the housing and construction sectors, to benefit from the huge market available in Pakistan.

Soomro said there was shortage of nearly 5 million housing units in the country and the demand for houses was increasing at a fast pace.

He said the construction industry has the potential of providing employment opportunities to

thousand of skilled and unskilled labour force in the country.

The Senate Chairman reiterated government’s resolve to further enhance foreign direct investment in to the country.

Appreciating the construction of an international standard “World Trade Centre”, he said that such projects would definitely pave the way for attracting and channelizing foreign investment to the country.

Chairman Al-Ghurair Giga, Essa Abdullah Al-Ghurair, Vice Chairman, Al-Ghurair Giga, Haji Rafiq, President, Al-Ghurair Investment Development, Zahid Muzaffar and others also highlighted the salient features of the project.

The project “World Trade Centre” is located in Phase II of DHA, Islamabad is one of the best projects in the region, in addition to high quality construction, the Group would provide all modern civic facilities to the people.
