Jacobs Receives Design-Build Contract on the Washington State Department of Transportation I-405, 112th Avenue SE to SE 8th Street Widening Project.

(NYSE: JEC) announced today that they received a contract to provide design build services on the Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) project to widen I-405 between 112th Avenue SE and SE 8th Street. The project, a part of WSDOT’s Interstate-405 Corridor Program, will reduce congestion along I-405 in the South Bellevue area. Jacobs is teamed with Guy F. Atkinson Construction, LLC, for the work.
The contract is valued at $124 million, with construction scheduled for completion in 2009.
Jacobs has supported WSDOT projects since 1965 and this project is a significant step in continuing our relationship with this important client. Jacobs will provide roadway design, structural design, Intelligent Transportation Systems, illumination design, and other engineering services as needed on this project.
