ODA recruits senior architect from CABE
May 5th, 2007 - Posted in Architecture, General NewsThe director of architecture and design review at CABE has become the most senior architect on the Olympic project.
The Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) has appointed Selina Mason as its deputy head of design.
Mason is a qualified architect with eight years experience in practice, six of which were spent at CABE. She will join the ODA in August.
Mason has an MSc from the London School of Economics in Urban and Regional Planning and has worked for amongst others, Long and Kentish and Kohn Pedersen Fox International.
As ODA’s most senior architect she will be responsible for securing design quality across the whole Olympic development.
Richard Simmons, CABE chief executive, said: “Selina has made a brilliant contribution to CABE’s work, first as head of enabling and latterly as director of architecture and design review. She has sustained CABE’s reputation as the national centre of excellence for design review and taken us into new areas to keep it effective and relevant. We will all miss her.
“CABE has been working hard since the ODA was set up to ensure it delivers a well-designed Olympics. Selina’s move is, in many ways, symbolic of our joint commitment to excellent design. I wish her well in her new role.”
