Construction company faces lawsuit over water damaged building

A Springfield construction company denies a lawsuit’s claim that it failed to properly waterproof a building.

C.S. Algona Warehouse of New Jersey sued Larry Snyder and Company and McMahon Springfield in Greene County last month over allegedly defective work.

According to the petition, LSC constructed a United Health Care building at 1930 W. Bennett St. The plaintiff took over the property on Sept. 28, 2001.

C.S. Algona claimed water leaks appeared and caused extensive damage to the building in October 2001, which LSC denies. The plaintiff claimed it spent $267,420 on a replacement roof completed last year.

Kansas City attorney Heath Anderson represents LSC. He filed a response Friday claiming C.S. Algona failed to provide a proper notice of its claims to LSC.
