Once completely furnished with medical equipment, child delivery can already be accommodated there.
The second floor will be occupied by members of the City Council serving as the individual offices of the councilors. The City Engineer’s Office and the City Planning and Development Office will use the third floor.
Dumalag said that because the City handled the construction of the project, officials saved a few million pesos in cost.
“The construction that would have cost P25 million if it had been awarded to a private contractor was estimated at about P17 million,” Dumalag added.
The project will be located beside the Dumaguete City Fire Station.
The City Fiscal’s Office, City Health Office-Sanitary Division, and the Commission on Audit occupied the building in the area before it was razed by a dawn fire on March 31, 2005.
