Architecture index surges despite subprime market collapse

The American Institute of Architects’ architecture billings index rating of 60 in July was at near-record levels, while inquiries for new projects reached 66.2.
The organization said July’s rating was the second-highest since the survey’s inception in 1995. Any score above 50 indicates increased billings.
